It’s an alt/indie kind of weekend at Hailey’s with Stella Fest, on Friday Augst 10 and Saturday August 11. (Although isn’t always an alt/indie kind of weekend at Hailey’s?) Check out over 20 bands over two days including, but not limited to, True Widos, Holy Wave, Ringo Deathstarr and Gal Pals. Doors open at 5 on Friday, 4 on Saturday. Be there or you’ll officially be stripped of your hipster title and all the Pabst Blue Ribbon that comes with it.

The summer may be making its initial descent but you can still enjoy some good folk (slash) singer/songwriter summer music. This week forget the outdoor concerts and check out Ransom Rhodes and Jason Michael at the Old Red Courthouse for their Summer Rhythms series. The final show in their summer series takes place Wednesday August 8 at 6:30.

The Kessler is (yet again) having a great little show on Friday (August 10). The lineup starts off with the Deathray Davies, continues with Slobberbone and is wrapped up with the headlining Calhoun.

To put a touch of country twang and a little rock and roll in your weekend, check out Monte Montgomery playing at the Palladium Ballroom on Thursday (August 9). (No, he’s not like two Osmand’s wrapped up in one brightly teethed little package. Try Eric Johnson meets Eddie Vedder.)

I always love a good in-store, and Good Records has a great one coming up on Friday (August 11) with Clint Niosi, Eyes Wings and Many Other Things and Swirve. Their styles may be all different, but they still go together because these are all great bands to check out, folks. Luckily this in-store is actually on a Saturday at 7 pm, instead of on like a Wednesday at 2 pm like usual. Thank you for that Good Records.
