Great off-the-beaten-path design in Dallas
Searching the streets of Dallas, looking for the best unique home design stores for your apartment? There are great local emporiums here for furniture and accessories that will give you a chance to develop your own personal style, no matter what type of look you are going for.
We may be leading with our big fish, but Mary’s Finds is an amazing selection of hand-chosen vintage furniture and accessories that has some of the coolest pieces we’ve seen in any collection. Mary Padian is a hip young woman with a journalism background (she did digital projects for Architectural Digest) before opening her shop. If she doesn’t have what you are looking for from the vintage world, she can probably tell you where you can find it.
If your apartment is a place you want to look a little bit like the interior of a rustic log cabin, then you should wheel your wagon down to Antek’s Rustic Furniture and check out the farm and ranch inspired furnishings, art and decorative details they’ve got in stock. One of the more inspiring pieces in the showroom is the river stone fireplace, which we sure wish we could take home and put in our apartment, though it would look woefully out of place. Winter is the best time of year to embrace this look, so hurry on down before the weather gets warm.
If your apartment is in need of an art piece that is distinctive and eye-catching, White Elephant Antiques is like going to a bazaar of discarded museum pieces, many of them of the Americana vintage. Something unusual just might catch your eye here – though on another visit you might walk away empty handed. It never hurts to go back for a second look.
If you’d like the prints and accessories in your home – and on your person – to be of the “legit cool kid” variety, We are 1976 is a design shop you can visit without even leaving your computer. Just tab on over to their online store and start browsing the virtual aisles. Why not, you need to be Christmas shopping anyway! The only drawback is you’ll miss the last few cool places that we’re going to tell you about.
Actually – how about this – come back for another post with more Dallas design finds. Coming soon.
